University of Louisville coaches and athletics staff visited four more stops on their three-day "Cardinal Caravan" tour, an effort to reach out to U of L fans outside of the metropolitan area, on Wednesday (July 18).
Members of the U of L coaching and support staff visited Kroger stores in Frankfort, Shelbyville and LaGrange in Kentucky before finishing the day in New Albany, Ind. Crowds ranging from 300-1,000 greeted the Cardinal Caravan at Kroger stores in each venue.
The final day of the trek begins in Owensboro on Thursday morning with additional stops in Bardstown and Fern Creek. The Caravan visited Kroger stores in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown and Valley Station on Tuesday.
The Jewish Hospital Healthcare Express, a mobile medical care unit that is on site at many University of Louisville Athletics events, will be on site at selected locations to provide tours for fans in attendance.
Among the U of L representatives appearing at the various sites are football coach John L. Smith, whose other commitments allowed him to attend four locations over the first two days, and men's basketball coach Rick Pitino, who will be present at all sites of the tour.
