RAPID CITY, S.D. - University of Louisville redshirt freshman Meghan Little shot a two-day score of 153 to capture the 2001 South Dakota Golf Association's Women's Stroke Play Tournament in Rapid City, S.D. The event was played at Elks Golf Course.
Little, aided by three birdies in a row in the second round, recorded rounds of 78-75 to win the rain-shortened event by five strokes. The Sturgis, S.D., native had a nine-stroke lead in the final round before the championship was halted due to two inches of rain in one hour.
With the title, Little adds her name to a list of past champions that includes current Louisville head coach Kelly Meyers, who won the tournament in 1988.
