Women's Tennis Falls to Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to host Southern Miss 4-2 at the 2001 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship. Southern Miss took 1-0 lead, winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles' matches for the point. Southern Miss jumped out to a 3-0 lead, taking wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, before Louisville's Katie McLaughlin and Julie Penn narrowed the scored to 3-2 by posting wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Southern Miss clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 5 singles.
U of L will play Charlotte at 8 a.m. Saturday.
