
Women's Tennis Defeats Charlotte in Conference USA Tournament

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team defeated Charlotte 4-0 Saturday in the match for 11th place in the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship hosted by Southern Miss.
Louisville claimed the doubles point as seniors Katie McLaughlin and Kelly Whitler defeated Lauren Hastings and Stacie Luders 8-3 at the top seed and freshmen Mariana Torres and Paige Eber teamed to beat Kelly Rue and Alison Lacy 8-6 at No. 3.
The Cardinals posted wins at Nos. 1, 3 and 6 as McLaughlin defeated Alice Hansen 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, Whitler topped Luders 6-0, 6-0 at the three-spot and Torres won over Lacy 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.
U of L completes the season with a 6-20 record and an 11th place finish in C-USA.
