Former University of Louisville women's tennis player and coach, Manisha Patel, will be inducted into her hometown of Owensboro's Apollo High School's Athletic Hall of Fame, according to U of L head coach Meg Peavy.
Patel served as Peavy's assistant coach last season, after a stellar career as a Cardinal. A standout from 1996-99, she holds the record for career doubles wins with 113. She is tied for second on the list for career singles with 100 and ranks third on the school's list for singles wins in a season with a 32-12 record in 1997. She earned All-Conference USA honors that year as well. As a senior, Patel teamed with Nadia Karpol for a No. 40 ITA doubles ranking.
