Indianapolis, Ind. - The Louisville men's soccer team fell to IUPUI 2-0 on Thursday evening. The Jaguars scored two goals in the first 25 minutes to shut the Cardinal's out.
IUPUI freshman Vince Odorisio struck first when he beat U of L keeper David Gisler in a one-on-one situation early in the match for the game winner. The Jaguars got the second goal after junior Ben Higginbotham drilled a penalty kick past Gisler for a 2-0 lead.
From there, head coach Steve Franklin relied on his defense to record their eighth win of the season. The Jags' defense kept the Cards at bay, but not without opportunities.
The Cards outshot IUPUI 10-1 in the second half, including a Simon Bird header that narrowly missed high and a couple of aggressive attacks by Adrian Cann, but were unsuccessful. U of L also had ten corner kicks, including eight in the second half.
The Cardinals finish out the regular season on the road against TCU on Sunday.
