
Women's Golf Signs Two

Louisville, Ky. - Ellyn Leonard, a senior golfer from Zionsville High School in Zionsville, Ind. and Christina Baron, a senior golfer from Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky. have signed a national letters-of-intent to continue their playing careers at the University of Louisville next season.
Leonard earned Indiana All-State honors the last two seasons and finished third at the Indiana High School Meet last spring. In 2001 she won the Indiana State Junior Championships and competed in the Indiana Women's Amateur Championships. Leonard also earned team MVP honors her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
"Ellyn will be a great asset to our program," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "She is a very determined and dedicated in both academics and athletics. She is also very competitive and we look forward to her joining us next year."
Baron finished in third place of the regional tournament last spring for Sacred Heart. She was named the Girls 16-18 Player of the Year. She earned academic all-state honors the last three years.
"We look forward to Christina continuing the family tradition of playing for Louisville," said Meyers. "She is also the complete package with athletics and academics. She will redshirt her first season just like Meghan Little and Ali Wright."
