
Barr Named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week

University of Louisville field hockey player Danielle Barr was named Mid-American Conference Player of the week on Oct. 15. The junior defender from Lititz, Pa. came through in the clutch as she scored the tying goal in each of Louisville's 3-2 wins over the weekend.
Barr connected on a penalty corner to tie the game against Central Michigan at 2-2 on Friday, helping the Cardinals rebound from a 2-0 deficit in the first half. She also helped the Cards rally from being down 2-0 when nailed a penalty stroke with 1:53 left in the game to tie the score at 2-2 in Saturday's game against Ball State. Barr has a career-high six goals and four assists on the season. Her 16 points ties her for second on the team in that category.
U of L (13-2) is currently ranked No. 6 in the NCAA poll and No. 9 in the STX/NFHCA Division I coaches ranking. The Cards will continue conference play when they travel to No. 12 Kent State on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and No. 13 Ohio University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
