Louisville Takes Third at Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic

Kent State shot 310 (907 total) to take the title today on the silver course at the Unlimited Potential/Baytree Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC. Penn State shot a low-round 298, 915 altogether, to place second overall, while Louisville, with a 305 (919 after three days), stayed in third for the tournament. On the green course it was Austin Peay that totaled a 954 to claim the title on that course. Hartford came in second with a 319 on the day and a 9654 total. The College of Charleston moved up a spot to end with a tie for ninth-place on the silver course with a 937 total and 310 on the day.
The top 18 teams after two rounds played the silver course, while the lower 13, plus individuals, shot on the green course.
Michelle Simpson, of Florida International, shot a 74 the third round to total a 222 on the day, which was good enough to take individual honors on the silver course. Tying her was Jenny Gleason of UNC Greensboro who shot a 72 today. On the green course it was Stephanie George of Radford who took home individual medallist honors after totaling a 225 after shooting a 76 in the third round. In second was Hannah Storey of Gardner-Webb, who totaled a 226 after shooting a 77 on the day.
The tournament this past weekend, with 31 teams, was the largest collegiate women's golf tournament in the country. The Baytree Golf Plantation saw a total of 165 women golfers play three rounds, with the final round played on two courses at the site.
