Women's Tennis Picks Up 5-4 Win At Stetson

DELAND, Fla. - Louisville's Katie McLaughlin and Kelly Whitler won the deciding doubles match as the Cardinals topped Stetson 5-4 Thursday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center in DeLand, Fla.
In singles play, Whitler, Melisa San Martin and Beckett Hoyt each picked up straight-set wins at Nos. 4, 5 and 6, respectively. At No. 2, Kelly Ford dropped a tough three-set match to Analia Longoni 0-6, 6-4, 7-5.
In doubles action, the Cards lost at No. 1, but Hoyt and San Martin downed Julie Dougherty and Amanda Smeak 8-0 at No. 3 to tie the match at 4-4. McLaughlin and Whitler then edged out Jennifer Parsons and Longoni 8-5 at the second spot to give Louisville its sixth win in the last seven matches.
The Cardinals (9-3) travel to Orlando to take on Central Florida at 2 p.m. Saturday.
