The Cardinals committed four errors in the first game and allowed nine runs on just four hits. U of L starter Jessica Rak walked 11 and gave up nine runs, only four of which were earned. U of L managed just one hit off Evansville starter Maggie Ross before being eight-run ruled after five innings.

The Cardinals scored in the fourth inning when Keola Calderon doubled and then scored on a single by first baseman Amy Pickering.
"We have a big conference matchup this weekend against South Florida and we may have looked past Evansville a bit. They gave us a quick wakeup call though," said Sandy Pearsall. "We played much better defense in the second game."
