Cardinals Top Cincinnati 5-4 In Women's Tennis

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team defeated the University of Cincinnati 5-4 Wednesday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

In singles action, Kelly Ford defeated Amy Trocewicz 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, while Kelly Whitler and Melisa San Martin outlasted each of their opponents in three sets, with Whitler winning 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 and San Martin prevailing 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5.

In doubles competition, Kelly-Marie Miller and Ford edged Kara Molony and Lisa Pruett 9-8 at No. 1, while Katie McLaughlin and Whitler topped Jen Capuzzi and Katie Kerr 8-4.

Louisville (13-6) will play host to UAB Friday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at 3:00.
