Cardinals Sweep Western Kentucky, Western Illinois In Men's Tennis

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Cardinal men's tennis team swept both Western Kentucky and Western Illinois 7-0 Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center to improve to 10-3 on the year.
Against WKU, the Cardinals were paced by Tvrtko Kujundzic, Joachin Lien and Alex Sivertsen who won their singles and doubles matches. Kujundzic is currently on a six-match winning streak at No. 1 singles.
"Western Kentucky put up a strong fight, but we eventually wore them down," said head coach Rex Ecarma.
Against Western Illinois, U of L started with a doubles sweep. Kujundzic and Lien won faced the toughest challenge, winning 8-6. The other two doubles matches were won easily with Cody Conley pairing with Paulo Carvalho to win 8-1 and Scott Schutzman and Oliver Cantrell winning 8-2.
"It is gratifying to see players stepping up day in and day out and winning their matches. We had five matches this week and I tell them that we have no room for days off and have to take care of business every day," said Ecarma.
