Women's Tennis Defeats Indiana State 6-3

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team defeated Indiana State 6-3 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Wednesday night.
Louisville's top seed Kelly-Marie Miller won over Tina Morales in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Kelly Ford also picked up a win for the Cards at the No. 2 spot in three sets 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Melisa San Martin and Beckett Hoyt won at Nos. 5 and 6 respectively in straight sets.
Indiana State's Karen Human and Jen Earle picked up singles points for the Sycamores Nos. 3 and 4.
In doubles action, Louisville's Ford and Miller won over Human and Exeter 9-7 at the one spot, while McLaughlin and Whitler picked up a second doubles point for the Cards by defeating Earl and Liwanpo 8-4 at No. 2. Indiana State's Wilson and Morales teamed to defeated Hoyt and San Martin 8-5 at No. 3.
"It was a well-played match," said U of L head coach Meg Peavy. "Indiana State is a very competitive team."
The Cards will play host to Evansville on Feb. 24 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
