Cardinal Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season At West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The women's tennis team opened up their fall season by competing in the West Virginia Invitational Sept. 10-12. The Cardinals competed against teams from American University, Army, Bloomsburg, George Washington, Eastern Michigan, Maryland-Baltimore County and West Virginia.
Junior Kelly Marie Miller won the Third Flight Singles by defeating Katrina Stastny of George Washington 6-3, 6-2, West Virginia's Meghan Cornwall 6-3, 7-5, and Maryland-Baltimore County's Kathryn Wheatley 6-2, 6-2.
Senior Melissa Farmer went undefeated and won the Flight 8 Singles with wins over Jaclyn Ott of Army, 7-6, 7-5 and West Virginia's Becky Carlson 6-1, 6-0.
