Bass, Morton Lead Women's Basketball Past Houston

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Playing in their final regular season game in Freedom Hall, seniors Alison Bass and Jill Morton put in banner performances as Louisville defeated Houston 68-54 Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Cardinals remain tied for second place with DePaul in the American Division.
Bass led the Lady Cards in scoring with 19 points and collected five steals while Morton added 18 points and four assists. Louisville shot just 35 percent from the field but outrebounded the Cougars 45-30.
Louisville led 29-28 at the half before switching to a half-court trap in the second half and got results. Louisville scored seven unanswered points off three Houston turnovers to take the lead for good in the second half.
