Virginia Commonwealth Defeats Lady Cards 76-60

RICHMOND, Va. - The Louisville Lady Cards shot just 27.3-percent in the second half as they fell to Virginia Commonwealth 76-60 Saturday afternoon in Richmond.
Louisville tied the game at the 5:53 mark in the first half with a three-pointer by senior Alison Bass, but the Rams finished the half on a 9-3 run to take a 34-28 lead into the locker rooms.
Trailing 41-32 early in the second half, the Lady Cards rallied to pull within five at the 14:40 mark on a layup by Jenny Knight . The Rams responded with 10 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
Bass led the Lady Cards with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Jill Morton finished with 17 points, 14 of which came in the final 20 minutes. Kristine Austgulen led VCU with 21 points and 12 boards.
