LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Indiana high school standout Sara Nord has signed a national letter-of-intent to play with the Louisville Lady Cards next season announced co-head coaches Martin Clapp and Sara White.
Nord is a 5-5 point guard from Jeffersonville High School. She earned first team all-state honors as a junior last season, and is a top candidate for Miss Indiana Basketball honors this season.
Nord averaged 22 points per game, ranking her as one of the top 20 scorers in the state last season. She also averaged 7.2 assists and 5.9 steals per game.
This summer Nord led the junior Indiana All-Stars in an 80-71 defeat of the senior all-stars. She led the team with 17 points and five assists.
"We are excited about signing another Indiana guard the caliber of Sara," said co-head coach Martin Clapp. "She will be able to step in next year and help us right away with her ballhandling and scoring abilities. She will play the point guard for us but will be able to play the off guard because of her ability to shoot the three. She has range well beyond the three-point line which makes her hard to guard.
"It is also nice to be able to sign another local player where family and friends can see her play throughout her career."
