Field Hockey Defeats Pacific 2-1 In Overtime

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville field hockey team defeated University of the Pacific 2-1 in overtime on Thursday night.
Louisville freshman Susan Sattazahn broke a scoreless tie on a penalty corner with assists from Tonya Harrison and Pip Sanders with 12:12 remaining in the second half.
Pacific's Kristi Townley tied the game at one on an assist from Aimee Tomasso with just five seconds left in regulation time and sent the game into a 15 minute sudden victory overtime. U of L connected on another penalty corner just 1:12 into the overtime period as Sattazahn scored her second goal of the night on an assist from Sanders.
"Our overtime win against Stanford helped us in this game and gave us confidence," said Louisville head coach Pam Bustin. "We have a young and inexperienced team, and we have to take things one step at a time. This was a good win for us."
Pacific (0-4) will take on Miami University (Ohio) Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium. The Tigers will then face Wake Forest on Saturday, Sept. 18 at noon at Cardinal Stadium.
The Cardinals (2-5) will play Bellarmine on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium.
After a scoreless first overtime period, Tallinger completed her hat trick with just 2:57 remaining to give the Chippewas the 3-2 win.
U of L (3-6) will face the No. 16 ranked Ball State Cardinals, Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium.
