Field Hockey Cards Drop Overtime Game To Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville field hockey team lost a Mid-American Conference game to Miami University (Ohio) 1-0 in overtime on Friday.
In an evenly matched game, the RedHawks recorded 19 shots on goal while the Cards had 17. U of L was awarded 11 penalty corners to Miami's 10. Louisville goalkeeper Colleen Finn recorded nine saves to Miami's Marie Vaughn's seven saves, but Vaughn was awarded the shutout.
After playing to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation, the game-winning goal was scored by Miami's Beth Young on an assist from Chris Stoll 7:23 minutes into the sudden-victory overtime period.
Miami (4-9) (1-5) will play Southwest Missouri on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
U of L (4-11) (1-4) will play host to Southwest Missouri on Sunday at noon at Cardinal Stadium.
