Cardinal Field Hockey Routs Bellarmine 9-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville field hockey team defeated Bellarmine College 9-0 on Sunday at Cardinal Stadium.
Louisville junior Lainey Habeeb started the scoring for the Cards just six minutes into the game, and added another goal eight minutes later with assists from Tonya Harrison and Pip Sanders.
Freshman Keri Beckhorn scored the next two goals for U of L, with Harrison assisting on both. Sophomore Sarah Ross closed out the first half with a goal with only 51 seconds remaining in the half, giving U of L a 5-0 halftime lead.
Harrison scored two more goals in the second half. Sanders and junior Jen Felker also scored for the Cardinals.
Bellarmine's goalie, Katie Norris, had 33 saves in the game.
The Cardinals (3-5) will open Mid-American Conference play when they host Central Michigan on Friday, Sept. 24 at 3:00 p.m.
