LOUISVILLE, KY -- Following their 49-28 upset win at #11 Southern Miss, the Conference USA leading Louisville Cardinals earned the league's offensive and defensive player of the week awards. It marks the first time in the Cards' five-year stay in C-USA they have earned player of the week honors on both sides of the football during the same week.
Sophomore quarterback Dave Ragone captured the weekly title for the third time this season and the second time in as many weeks after a 25 of 42, 293-yard performance against USM. The lefty threw for two scores and accounted for two more on the ground as U of L scored the most points by a USM opponent in Hattiesburg since 1987.
Sophomore safety Anthony Floyd joins linebacker Rashad Harris as U of L defensive honorees this season following his C-USA record-setting three-interception performance versus the Golden Eagles. Floyd currently leads the nation with nine interceptions and has recorded 12 interceptions in just 20 career games in a U of L uniform.
U of L concludes its home schedule this Saturday taking on a new-look Army squad at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
