LOUISVILLE, KY -- Coming off an impressive 49-28 win at No. 11 Southern Miss, the Louisville Cardinals (7-2 overall, 4-1 in Conference USA) take to the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium field for the final time in 2000 as they play host to Army in a C-USA matchup.
Louisville's win in Hattiesburg was its first since 1980 and marked the first time in five seasons the Cardinals had knocked off a ranked opponent. The last time U of L beat an ranked opponent was Oct. 8, 1994 when it defeated then-No. 18 North Carolina State, 35-14 in old Cardinal Stadium.
A victory by the Cardinals would give the program its first eight-win season since 1990 when U of L posted a 9-1-1 regular season record before adding a victory in the `91 Fiesta Bowl.
