The Louisville media was treated to authentic barbeque flown in from Memphis along with the Liberty Bowl Trophy as representatives from the AXA Liberty Bowl met with them Thursday.
Executive director Steve Ehrhart talked about the city of Memphis and the excitement building over the meeting of the Cardinals and Colorado State on December 29th in the AXA Liberty Bowl. Cards Head Coach John L. Smith spoke with the media about the upcoming match up.
"This is the icing on the cake for us, when our guys talk about a bowl game, we talk about the Liberty Bowl," Smith noted. "It's going to be one of those games where you're going to have to line up, and you're just going to have to beat the other guy."
Memphis City Council Member and Executive Director of the Beale Street Merchants Association Rickey W. Peete discussed activities for the Louisville fans to do while in Memphis for the week of the game. Lunch was flown in from The Pig and Whistle in Memphis for the event.
