
Field Hockey Players Earn MAC Academic Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Nine University of Louisville field hockey players have been named to the 2000 Field Hockey Mid-American Conference Honor Roll. Louisville placed more student-athletes on the honor roll than any other school in the MAC.
Allison Barkley (Weaverville, N.C.), Keri Beckhorn (Tunkhanock, Pa.), Jennifer Felker (Burlington, Ontario), Sarah Ross (Nicholson, Pa.), Pip Sanders (New South Wales, Australia), Susan Sattazahn (Palmyra, Pa.), Heather Slider (Louisville, Ky.), Shelby Summers (Palmyra, Pa.) and Jennifer Welgosh (Wapwallopen, Pa.), were named to the 2000 MAC Field Hockey Honor Roll. Student-athletes must obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season to be eligible for the honor. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible.
U of L (14-8) finished the season with a school record-setting 14 wins. The Cardinals finished third in the MAC, advancing to the second round of the tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 1994.
