
Women's Tennis Invitational Concludes Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The second day of the of the University of Louisville women's tennis invitational closed after being delayed by rain. Cincinnati, DePaul and Wisconsin each have two players competing in the finals of their singles draws.
In the "A" flight Wisconsin's April Gabler will play East Tennessee State's Patty Vega in the championship match on Sunday. Wisconsin's Katie Dougherty will face Jen Capuzzi of Cincinnati in the finals of the "B" flight. In "C" singles, DePaul's Stephanie Matko advanced the final round, where she will play Lisa Pruett of Cincinnati. Karen Falduto of DePaul and Ani Santi of Wyoming will play in the finals of the "D" singles flight. All singles matches will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Louisville's Katie McLaughlin advanced to the semifinal round of the "A" flight where she was defeated by Lyndsey of CIncinnati 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Louisville's Melisa San Martin also advanced to the semifinal round of the "B" flight for the Cardinals where she lost to Katie Dougherty of Wisconsin 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
In "A" doubles, Katie Dougherty and Lara Vojnov of Wisconsin will play Karen Falduto and Laura Taylor of DePaul in the semifinals and Karen Hunan and Carolina Salinas of Indiana AState will play April Gabler and Vanessa Rauh of Wisconsin.
In "B" doubles, Wyoming's Ani Santi and Paulina Delmonte will play Cara Prupas and Patty Vega of East Tennessee State, and Jennifer Hancock and Toni Terhaar of Wyoming will face Beth Abraham and Maggie Nafziger of Xavier in the semifinals. All doubles matches will begin at 10:30 a.m.
