Cardinal CHAMPS/Life Skills Program - Community Service
October 12, 2000 | General
The Cardinal Life Skills commitment to Service aims to engage student-athletes in volunteer service to the University of Louisville and throughout the greater Louisville community.
CardsCARE (Community Action Response Effort) is a program designed specifically for student-athletes to give back to many organizations throughout the greater Louisville community. Student-athletes, coaches, and athletic department staff volunteer over 10,000 hours each academic year. Their activities range from reading to local schools, speaking to groups on various topics, hosting sports clinics, feeding the hungry, and mentoring younger children. The CardsCARE program has been honored by the National Consortium for Academic and Sports for their commitment to serving the Louisville community.
