Louisville women's soccer scratched back from an early 2-0 deficit to tie Murray State 2-2 Tuesday night at Cardinal Park in double overtime.
The Racers(8-6-1, 2-2-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with unassisted goals from Christine Brannen and Jackie Thomas less than four minutes apart early in the first half. But the Cards(1-12-1, 0-7-0) trimmed the lead to 2-1 in the 27th minute when junior Amber Jolley notched her fourth goal of the season, converting a cross from Dana Edler.
Jolley then tied the game in the 73rd minute after coralling a loose ball from an attack by Kristin Tapp, and tucked inside the left post past goalkeeper Geri Thompson.
Louisville keeper Lynn Clashman had five saves in the game including two huge stops in the second overtime period. Shots were even at 17 apiece. The tie snaps a 12 game losing streak for the Cards.
U of L travels to Memphis Friday and will meet UAB on Sunday.
