Kenny Reeves played guard for Coach Bernard “Peck” Hickman’s basketball squad. He lettered four times beginning in the 1946-47 season. In his four years as a Cardinal, his teams went 90-33 and won the NAIB Championship in 1947-48. An excellent defensive player, Reeves was always assigned to guard the opponent’s high scorer. Offensively, he was one of the better outside shooters on the squad but specialized in driving to the basket. An all-state basketball player at Maysville, Kentucky, Reeves is on the UofL 1000 point scoring list with 1,245 points, an average of 10.6 points per game. He was the team’s leading scorer with 433 points in his senior season and was the team co-captain along with Glen Combs for that year. Reeves graduated from UofL Dental School and practiced in the Louisville area.
