2022-23: In the morning session of the ORCI, Sydney rowed in the 2V8 boat that finished third with a time of 6:44.590. In the afternoon session of the ORCI, she rowed in the 2V8 boat that finished third, turning in a 6:56.908. In the Sunday session of the ORCI, she rowed in the 2V8 boat that finished fourth, just two seconds out of third. At the Sunshine State Invitational, she rowed in the 2V4 to a fifth-place finish, turning in a 7:46.54. In the petite final of the 2V4, she rowed the Cardinals to a second-place finish with a time of 7:51.89. In the head-to-head regatta against Michigan, she was aboard the V4 boat that finished fourth in 8:0103. In the prelims of the ACC Championship in Raleigh, she rowed the V4 boat to a fifth place finish in 7:51.345 to advance to the petite final. In the ACC Championship petite final, she rowed the Cards to a third place finish in 7:51.116.
2021-22: Sydney Paulus rowed in the V4 boat that boarded a time of 7:16.853 on Day 1 of the ORCI. On Day 2 of the ORCI, she rowed in the V4 boat to a second place finish with a time of 7:23.195. At the Sunshine State Invitational, she rowed on the V4 boat that won the petite final with a time of 7:29.65. At the Lake Wheeler Invitational, she helped the Cards’ V4 boat to a third place finish with a time of 7:47.154. In the head-to-head competition with Michigan, she was on the V4 boat that posted a time of 7:47.45. At the ACC Championships held at Clemson in 2022, she was on the V4 boat that finished fifth in the grand final with a time of 7:25.809. An outstanding student, she was named as scholar athletes for the 2022 season by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) and was named to the ACC All-Academic team. She is a member of the AD Honor Roll and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2020-21: In the COVID-shortened season, Sydney rowed in the 2V8 boat at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, the 2V8 boat versus Notre Dame, and was in the 2V4 boat at the ACC Championship that won the Petite Final. A strong student, Sydney was a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, was named a Red & Black Scholar, and made the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Dean's List. She is also a CRCA Scholar Athlete.
Prior to UofL: Sydney rowed for Pocock Rowing Center for five years. She competed in the V8+ at 2017 Youth Nationals. She attended Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, Washington.
