Keressa Ackles came to the University of Louisville as the assistant athletic trainer for the women’s basketball team prior to the 2017-18 season.
Prior to coming to Louisville, she spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant in athletic training and exercise science at Southwest Minnesota State University. While at SMSU, she worked with the women’s basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, cheerleading, football and softball programs. She was in charge of all pre- and post-season maintenance and rehabilitation, athlete stretching and taping, in addition to the creation of athlete specific rehabilitation protocol.
Ackles graduating from Louisiana State University in 2015 with degrees in athletic training and sports studies. She also worked as an athletic training student during her four years at LSU, assisting with the men’s basketball, football and track and field teams. In addition, she served as medical liason and host athletic trainer for Green Bay University and Penn State University during the 2013 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship (1st & 2nd Rounds), which was hosted by LSU.
