Junior: Last year, Sergiu was a reliable point producer in the dual season and made the BIG EAST A-final in the 100-breast with a time of 55.44 which placed him fifth. He added points with a Consols swim in the 200-breast with a 2:03.82, placing him fifth.

Sophomore: Sergiu had a solid sophomore season for the Cardinals, with a strong dual meet season as a consistent point scorer. At the 2008 BIG EAST Championships, he finaled in the 100-breast, finishing sixth. He also gutted it out to make the B-Final in the 200-breast.

Freshman: He joined the Cardinals in January of 2007 and immediately made an impact for U of L. He set his lifetime bests in the 50-free, 100-free and 100-breast all at the BIG EAST Championships. He was a part of the 200-free relay team at BIG EAST that took fifth. He also set a lifetime best in the 200-breast against Notre Dame.

Prep: Sergiu also represented U of L at the 2006 Spring Nationals in New York, placing third in the 400-medley relay. He was also recruited by Alabama, Iowa and Arizona. He gained international experience when he swam at the Romanian National Championships. He finished third in the 100-meter breast and third in the 50-meter breast.

Personal: He is the son of Ioan and Viorica Daghid. He was born May 3, 1987. His major is business.
