David Horne capped his seventh season as the Director of Operations for the Louisville men's soccer program in 2017.
Horne joined the Cardinals' staff after serving as the General Manager of the Louisville Lightning. Horne is a founding member of the professional indoor soccer team and was responsible for marketing the team, sponsorship sales, ticket sales, game day operations and community and media relations.
Horne orchestrated the signing of three former Major League Soccer stars with the Lightning, and under his guidance, the Lightning made it to the Professional Arena Soccer Leagues US Open Cup title game in the team's first season.
A native of Louisville, Horne played college soccer for Centre College in Danville, Ky. A two-time captain, Horne was Centre's first NSCAA/adidas Academic All-American and the 2006 Centre College Male Athlete of the Year.
Prior to joining the Lightning, Horne served as an assistant coach at his alma mater and played professionally outdoor for the Cincinnati Kings of the USL II and indoor for the Cincinnati Kings of the PASL. Horne holds his USSF "B" License.
Horne earned his bachelor's degree in International Studies from Centre College in 2007. He resides in Crescent Hill with his wife Lauren and son Daniel.
