PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
BIOGRAPHY In the past ten years, Heather Engel has taken on many roles at the University of Louisville. She began her career at U of L as a member of the women's soccer team in 2003. After her playing career ended, Heather completed a graduate assistantship with the Sports Performance staff. As a graduate student studying Exercise Physiology she designed and implemented training for women's soccer, women's golf and women's tennis. Heather is currently in her second year as a full-time member of the Sports Performance staff where she now serves as the Movement (Speed Development) Specialist and primary performance coach with women's soccer, women's lacrosse and field hockey. As an athlete Heather took tremendous pride in representing the Cardinal name. As a coach, she ensures that every athlete under her direction does the same. Heather is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, and Functional Movement Screen (FMS-1) Certified. |
