Tajianna Roberts Named ACC Rookie of the Week

This is the fifth time this season she has earned the award
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coming off her first career double-double, Louisville guard Tajianna Roberts was named ACC Rookie of the week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. This is the fifth time Roberts has been named ACC Rookie of the Week this season, tied for the most of any player in the conference.
Roberts was key in the Cardinals 83-69 road win over No. 23/21 Florida State this past week. The Cardinals handed Florida State only their second loss at home all season. The Cardinals also held the Seminoles to a season-low 69 points after they had averaged an NCAA leading 92.1 points per game heading into the contest.
Roberts tallied a team-high 17 points in the win and hit some crucial baskets down the stretch to keep the Cardinals in front. She had her best career game on the boards as she tallied a career-high 10 rebounds to lead the team and collect her first career double-double. It was her 20th double-digit scoring performance of the season, the most of any ACC freshman this season.
Roberts and the Cardinals will be back in action Thursday night as they are in Durham to take on the No. 11/10 Duke Blue Devils. The Cards and Blue Devils will square off at 7 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
