Men's Golf Finishes First Round at the Prestige

LAQUINTA, Calif. - The University of Louisville men's golf team opened the spring season with a 22nd-place finish after the first 18 holes of the Prestige at the PGA West Course on Monday.
The Cardinals shot a 9-over-par after the first day and enter the second day 18 shots off the lead. No. 6 North Carolina leads the 24-team field  with Kansas second and San Diego third heading into Tuesday next 18 holes.
Cooper Claycomb was the top UofL player on the day as he shot even-par for his round to finish in 40th place. He would birdie three holes on the front and two more on the back nine holes.
Sebastian Moss was 2-over-par to close in 66th place and Patrick Keeling sits in 78th after his round of 3-over-par. Easton Johnson is in 88th at 4-over-par and Brady Smith didn't finish his round.
The Cards will begin second round action at 2:55 ET on the PGA West Course.Â
