Cards Final Round Surge Propels Team into a Tie for Third Place in Williams Cup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team shot a final round 282 to move up into a tie for third place in the Williams Cup presented by STITCH Golf, hosted by the University of North Carolina at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington.
Entering the final round in a tie for ninth place, the Cardinals recorded 17 birdies as a team to propel the squad into a third-place finish at the Williams Cup with rounds of 292-299-282=873. to close the fall campaign in impressive fashion. Florida won the tournament and Texas came in second place.
Brady Smith led the resurgence on Tuesday with a final round score of 67 to finish in a tie for 15th place. The sophomore got out of the gate slowly with 79-71 but responded by shooting a 5-under-par to help the Cards move up six spots.
Andrew Tan was also impressive by placing in a tie for 18th. The senior shot a final round 2-under-par 70 to end the tournament a 2-over-par (218). Cooper Claycomb shot an even-par round of 72 to tie for 34th place with a final score of 6-over-par.
Warren Thomis finished in a tie for 47th with a 75-76-73=224 and Easton Johnson tied for 68th with a 13-over-par 229.
