Louisville is one of three schools with multiple players on the Preseason All-ACC Team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville women's basketball sophomore guard Tajianna Roberts and senior forward Laura Ziegler were both named to the Preseason All-ACC team, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Louisville is one of three schools to have multiple players on the Preseason All-ACC team. Roberts is one of just two sophomores to earn preseason All-ACC honors.
The conference also announced the predicted order of finish for all 18 league teams. The Cardinals were selected to finish fourth overall and they received two first place votes. Louisville has finished in the Top 5 of the league standings in each of its 11 seasons in the ACC. They are the only school in the league to finish in the top 5 in each of the last 11 seasons.
Roberts is coming off a standout freshman season with the Cardinals where she started in all 33 games and was one of the most productive players on the team. She averaged 12.8 points per game, which was second on the team, and led the team with 57 steals.
Roberts was named ACC Rookie of the Week five times during last season, which set a program record for weekly honors by a freshman in a single season. She had 25 double-digit scoring games last season, which was the top mark among ACC freshmen. She was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-ACC following the season. She was one of just two freshmen to earn All-ACC honors.
Ziegler is a transfer to Louisville after spending three seasons at Saint Joseph's. She is coming off a standout junior season where she was a finalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award. Last season with the Hawks, she led the A-10 with 10.4 rebounds per game and was second in the conference with 17.5 points per game. She was the third player in Saint Joseph's program history to record 500+ points, 200+ rebounds and 100+ assists in a single season. Ziegler was a first team All-Conference honoree in each of the last two seasons.
Roberts, Ziegler and the Cardinals are preparing to open the 2025-26 overseas for the second-straight season. Louisville will take part in the 2025 Peraton Armed Forces Classic as they face off with the UConn Huskies on November 4 at Ramstein Air Base in Ramstein, Germany.
