The Cardinals and Wolfpack will open ACC play on Sunday, December 15 on ABC
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's basketball team has been selected to take part in the 2024 Jimmy V Women's Classic, ESPN announced Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinals will open ACC play and are set to face NC State on Sunday, December 15 inside the KFC Yum! Center. The game will start at 1 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
"We are excited to have been selected for the Jimmy V Women's Classic," said head coach Jeff Walz. "This event is a great showcase for women's basketball and a great opportunity to support the V Foundation."
This will be the ACC opener for the Cardinals as their remaining ACC schedule will be released next month. The Cardinals just finished their 10th season in the ACC and have been the most consistent team in the league over that span. In the past 10 years the Cardinals have won 138 ACC games, the most of any team in the conference. They have finished within the Top-5 of the conference standings in each of the last 10 years, the only team to do so. Louisville is also the only team to reach the quarterfinals or farther in each of the last 10 ACC Tournaments.
This will be the first of nine ACC home games for the Cardinals on the season and they have been dominant at home during conference play. Louisville is 75-10 at home in ACC games and have lost just one or fewer ACC home games in eight of their 10 years in the league.
Season tickets are currently on sale for the women's basketball season. This game is one of 13 home matchups the Cardinals will have at the KFC Yum! Center. To buy tickets, follow the link here.
