Louisville Athletics Places 505 Student-Athletes on Athletic Director’s Honor Roll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville student-athletes continue to perform at a high level in the classroom, with 505 Cardinals achieving Athletic Director's Honor Roll status in the spring semester. The honor roll recognizes student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the semester.
UofL's student-athletes combined to produce a 3.311 GPA for the 2024 spring semester, marking the 27th straight semester with a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better. The impressive numbers also include 98 student-athletes who finished the spring term with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
For the second straight semester, women's soccer led the department, posting a team GPA of 3.704 while men's swimming and diving held the highest team GPA of UofL's men's programs at 3.497.
The University of Louisville achieved a department-record 93% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest report released in December by the NCAA.
Louisville's 93% GSR beats the school's previous best mark of 92% achieved last year, as well as the 91% recorded in the previous two years before that. The GSR was developed 19 years ago to account for transfers, including mid-year enrollees, into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing.
The most recent report accounts for freshmen who entered in the 2016-17 academic year. Louisville's GSR has risen by nearly 30% since reporting began 19 years ago.
UofL had 17 programs achieve a GSR of 90 or higher December's report, while seven programs – men's basketball, women's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, field hockey, women's soccer and volleyball – recorded a perfect 100 mark.
