LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team has jumped nine spots in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings to No. 36 after an impressive weekend to open conference play and Etienne Donnet has entered the ITA's singles rankings at No. 96 for the first collegiate national singles ranking of his career.
The Cardinals (10-4, 2-0 ACC) have won seven straight matches after recording a 4-2 win over then-No. 48 Clemson on Friday and followed up with a 4-3 win over then-No. 44 Georgia Tech and a 4-0 win against Tennessee State on Sunday.
Donnet rallied to upset then-No. 12 Andres Martin of Georgia Tech 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 on Sunday and was named ACC Men's Tennis Co-Singles Player of the Week. Donnet is 9-5 in singles play for Louisville this season and has won five straight singles matches.
Louisville will face Virginia Tech on Friday at 2 p.m. and No. 14 Virginia on Sunday at 1 p.m. to continue conference play.
