LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville women's basketball senior Liz Dixon announced on Friday that she will take advantage of the NCAA's extra year of eligibility and return to the Cardinals for the 2022-23 season.
Earlier this week, Mykasa Robinson and Ahlana Smith announced that they will also return next season.
Â
Dixon is averaging 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 60 percent from the floor. She has six double-figure scoring games this season.
Â
In wins at Clemson and at Syracuse, she scored a combined 30 points and was a perfect 14-of-14 from the floor. She scored a season-high 18 points on 8-of-8 shooting, while pulling down seven rebounds, in the win at Syracuse. In the win at Clemson, she scored 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting. She is the only player this season to go 6-of-6 or better from the field in back-to-back games and only the third to have two such games at all this season.
"After discussion with my family and coaches, I believe it is in my best interest to take advantage of my fifth year of eligibility. My goals of finishing my degree in Business and playing professionally are stronger than ever," said Dixon. "Most importantly, I want to continue to help my team pursue an ACC and National Championship. Thank you Card Nation!"
The Cardinals host Virginia Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for Senior Day.
