LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville student-athletes achieved a department-record 92% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest report released Tuesday by the NCAA.
Â
Louisville's 92% GSR beats the school's previous best mark of 91% achieved in each of the previous two years. The GSR was developed 18 years ago to account for transfers, including mid-year enrollees, into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing.
Â
The most recent report accounts for freshmen who entered in the 2015-16 academic year. Â Louisville's GSR has risen by nearly 30% since reporting began 18 years ago.
Â
Twenty-two Cardinal programs attained a GSR of 78 or better in the most recent report, with 15 programs achieving a 90 or higher. Eight programs – baseball, men's basketball, men's golf, women's basketball, field hockey, women's golf, women's lacrosse and volleyball – recorded a perfect 100 mark.
Â
All UofL student athletes combined to produce an average GPA of 3.0 or better for the 23rd straight semester in spring 2022 with an impressive 3.256 collective GPA.
Â
The Cardinals placed 467 student-athletes on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.0 grade point average for the semester.
Â
They also placed 417 student-athletes on the Atlantic Coast Conference 2021-22 Academic Honor Roll for student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a GPA of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. Louisville was one of six schools with more than 400 student-athletes earning recognition.
