Abdikadir Signs Pro Contract with San Diego Loyal FC

The forward started all 14 games for the Cardinals last season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville forward Haji Abdikadir has become the latest men's soccer student-athlete to sign a professional contract, inking a deal with San Diego Loyal FC of the United Soccer League (USL).
Abdikadir spent three seasons at Louisville, playing in 43 matches and starting 31 of 34 matches over the last two years.
The forward netted four goals for the Cardinals and was tied for second on the team in 2020 with three assists. He was one of four Cardinals to start all 14 matches last season and his 1,261 minutes were the third-most on the team.
Originally from Kenya, Abdikadir came to UofL from Louisville Collegiate School and scored a pair of goals in his first season. His first career tally came in the first half of a 2-1 overtime victory over top-ranked Wake Forest in the semifinal round of the 2018 ACC Championship and he added another against Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Championship later that year.
