Dana Evans Named Finalist for Dawn Staley Award

The Dawn Staley Award recognizes the most outstanding guard in the country.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - University of Louisville senior guard Dana Evans is one of five finalists for the Dawn Staley Award, which recognizes the top guard in the country.
Evans is joined by UConn's Paige Bueckers, Iowa's Caitlin Clark, Kentucky's Rhyne Howard and Rutgers' Arella Guirantes.
"The Dawn Staley Award is given to the most outstanding collegiate guard in the country, a player who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed during her career (ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win)," says Michael G. Horsey, Founder of the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia.
The winner of the Dawn Staley Award will be announced during the weekend of the Final Four and will be honored during a virtual ceremony Thursday, April 8.
Former Louisville guard Asia Durr was the 2019 Dawn Staley Award winner.
