LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A high scoring week on the pitch earned University of Louisville men's soccer forward Aboubacar Camara ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Camara tallied four goals in two matches last week, helping the Cardinals to victories over Eastern Illinois and North Carolina. He is the first Louisville player to earn the conference's weekly honor this season.
The forward opened the week with a pair of goals in UofL's 5-0 win over Eastern Illinois. Camara followed up that effort with two more goals, scoring twice in the final four minutes to lift the Cardinals to a 2-0 win over UNC. He was the first Louisville player to tally multiple goals in consecutive games since at least 2001.
Camara is currently leading the ACC and tied for the national lead with 12 goals through 13 matches. His 12 goals are tied for the fourth-most in a single season all-time at Louisville.
Camara enters Tuesday's match against Oakland with goals in three consecutive matches, aiming to score in four straight for the second time this season. Kickoff Tuesday is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
