Louisville picked up a 5-0 win on Tuesday at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 victory over Eastern Illinois on Tuesday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
The win snapped a two-match losing streak for the Cardinals, who have now scored at least four goals in four of the last seven matches.
Louisville (8-4-0) got on the board in the 18th minute on Pedro Fonseca's seventh goal of the season, as the senior continues to add to his career-high total.
Less than four minutes later, it was Aboubacar Camara finding the back of the net, the first of two on the night for the freshman. Macoumba Ba then tacked on one more in the final minute of the first half to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead at the break.
Camara added his second of the night in the 57th minute to give him 10 on the season. He is the first Louisville player to reach double digit goals since Mohamed Thiaw tallied 12 during the 2016 campaign.
Ba capped off the scoring with his second strike of the night in the 72nd minute for the first multi-goal game of his career.
Detre Bell played all 90 minutes in goal for the Cards, securing his fourth shutout of the season. The redshirt-senior faced just two shots on the night, neither of which were on target.
Louisville returns to conference action on Friday with a home match against North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the match will be televised on ACC Network.
