IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell to No. 16 Cornell 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 9-6 on the season.

In doubles, Cornell's duo of Daniel Soyfer and Lev Kazakov defeated Tin Chen and Alex Wesbrooks 6-1 on court two. Louisville responded with Matthew Fung and Fabien Salle beating Eero Vasa and Vladislav Melnic 6-3 on court one.

The Big Red was able to pull out with the doubles point by taking the decisive match on court three with Pietro Rimondini and Evan Bynoe beating David Mizrahi and Sergio Hernandez 7-6.

In singles action, Cornell extended the lead over the Cardinals with wins on courts two and four. Aladia Ayeni topped Hernandez 6-0, 6-0 on court two. Melnic defeated Randy Wilson 6-3, 6-2 on court four to make the lead 3-0.

The Big Red clinched the match on court five where Pietro Rimondini took down Mizrahi 6-4, 6-3.

The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday, March 13th when they travel to Blacksburg, Va., to play Virginia Tech in an ACC matchup.
