The Dawn Staley Award is given to the most outstanding collegiate guard in the country.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - University of Louisville senior guard Asia Durr has been named the recipient of the 2019 Dawn Staley Award.
It continues a busy week for Durr as she was named Ann Meyers Drysdale Award winner and WBCA All-American on Thursday night in Tampa and earlier was named Associated Press, Wooden Award, USBWA and Senior CLASS Award All-American.
"The Dawn Staley Award is given to the most outstanding collegiate guard in the country, a player who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed during her career (ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win)," said Michael G. Horsey, Founder of the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia.
"Asia is what the award embodies. She's an electrifying and dynamic player who plays on both sides of the ball," added Dawn Staley.
Durr earned back-to-back ACC Player of the Year honors and three times was named All-ACC First Team. She averaged 21.2 points per game during her senior campaign, which marked the fourth highest scoring average in Louisville history.
Dawn Staley will present the award during the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia's Dawn Staley Award Reception on Thursday, April 11 at the prestigious Union League of Philadelphia.
