Louisville Rowing Welcomes Seven Signees to 2020 Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville rowing head coach Derek Copeland has announced the signing of seven student-athletes in Catriana Carroll (Jackson, Michigan/Lumen Christi), Sophie DiFrank (Bethesda, Maryland/Walter Johnson), Issabella Hussey (Saratoga Springs, New York/ Saratoga Springs), Parkeura Kellow (Auckland, New Zealand), Kaylee Lowe (Louisville, Kentucky/Butler), Mary Katherine Lynch (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North), and Evey Peplowski (Williamston, Michigan/Williamston) compete for the Cardinals beginning with the 2020-21 season.

Catriana on becoming a Cardinal: I'm so excited to join the Cardinal family and try something new that is going to challenge me to be the best I can be.

Coaches thoughts on Catriana: Catriana is a very gifted athlete who has a strong work ethic and thoroughly enjoys competing and training. These qualities are going to serve her well as she transitions from basketball, tennis, and volleyball to rowing. We've been so impressed with Cat's ability and confidence every time we've seen her play throughout the recruiting process and are very happy she will be racing for the Cardinals!

Sophie on becoming a Cardinal: It was evident from my visit, that the Cardinal family consists of an amazing group of women who intend to pursue nothing but success and greatness. It is because of this innate sense of family and passion, that I am so excited and eager to join this group. I can't wait for what's to come! Go Cards!

Coaches thoughts on Sophie: It was clear to the coaches and team instantly that Sophie was meant to be a Louisville Cardinal. She has unbridled passion for the sport of rowing, excitement for the future, and a massive drive to better everyone around herself. We're thrilled to have her signing with the Cards, and very much looking forward to her presence over the next four years.

Coaches thoughts on Izzy: We have a great track record with coxswains who started as athletes, and Izzy is a cox to continue that tradition! Coming from a diverse and successful background as an athlete and a coxswain, we're pumped for all Izzy is going to bring to the squad through her work ethic, determination, and willingness to find speed wherever it lies. We look forward to the next chapter of her future here at UofL!

Coaches thoughts on PK: We knew from the moment we met PK that we wanted her to be a part of the Cardinal family. Quiet, polite, tenacious, and vicious are not words that one typically puts together, but in PK's case they fit perfectly! We're very happy to have PK joining our squad, and cannot wait to see what her future holds.

She's a great leader and we are very excited for Evey to arrive at Louisville and blaze her own trail as a Cardinal Rower.
